Measuring Distances

Point clouds can be used to measure distances between objects, heights of buildings, clearances of overpasses and others. Here AccuDraw can be used to easily define vertical distances. The example below measures the height of a building.

In this case, the median snap position was selected with a small radius. The ground coordinates were selected and then AccuDraw was switched to a Front view to make sure the measurement was vertical. Smart lock was invoked to lock AccuDraw on the Y axis (vertical) and a point was selected on the roof edge. To facilitate selecting from the roof points, the ground points were turned off during the measurement.
